Shore Fishing the Oswego River in Minetto, July 24, 2015

This is without a doubt one of the prettiest and well kept parks to fish in. It's a hidden gem. Minetto is located between Fulton and Oswego and is literally just a couple blocks long. The official name of the park we fished in is Riverview Memorial Park.

The park has restrooms and a washroom for use for overnight boaters (and anyone using the park) with a suggested donation. It has beautiful flowers in a few picnic areas and overlooks the Minetto bridge and Oswego River. It has an accessible ramp that goes down to a boating dock.

Use the boating dock with caution. A boat came by and the waves of the boat almost sent my chair into the water. Children and anyone concerned with this have plenty of fishing space on the banks.

There was a promising area at the end of the boat dock that dipped down into a ledge as it moved out from shore and was covered in shade. We weren't there long but I had several small hits and my proud catch of the day was a minnow that somehow caught itself while trying to get my weedless jig with a Berkeley honey worm.
